Getting You Up and Running

Here is the outline process we follow to get you on to the web as soon as possible:

  • We discuss with you the purpose of the website, its intended audience and outline content, how the text and any images will be sourced. We will also make you aware of things that you need to consider when establishing a website for the first time.
  • We will come back to you with a proposed approach and costs.
  • We will agree with you and register a domain name (your URL - e.g. www.yourname.co.uk).
  • Based on our understanding through our discussions we will design the look and feel of the site through a sample page and agree this with you.
  • We then build a prototype site based on this design which we will submit to you for your approval.
  • When the prototype has been agreed we will generate the final version of the site and create information that will help your site be found by search engines (so called "metadata").
  • Your site will be moved to a web server, made publicly available and submitted to search engines.

How many websites have you visited where you have been bombarded with superfluous graphics, animation and cluttered layout that actually makes it difficult for you to find the information you want? Our design philosophy is straightforward. We focus on the content so that your information and messages get across effectively. We achieve this by clean, crisp, uncluttered design that is nevertheless good to look at and easy on the eye. We discuss with you the purpose of the website, its intended audience and outline content, how the text and any images will be sourced. We will also make you aware of things that you need to consider when establishing a website for the first time. We will come back to you with a proposed approach and costs. We will agree with you and register a domain name - your URL - Based on our understanding through our discussions we will design the look and feel of the site through a sample page and agree this with you. We then build a prototype site based on this design which we will submit to you for your approval. When the prototype has been agreed we will generate the final version of the site and create information that will help your site be found by search engines (so called "metadata"). Your site will be moved to a web server, made publicly available and submitted to search engines. Try to identify your intended audience. What is it you want them to know about? Be concise - people have short attention spans and tend to scan read. We can write the text for you and supply images, but the information to allow us to write the text has to come from you in the first place! In our experience the best result is achieved if the customer can supply the text and images, we will edit as appropriate. Think about how your audience might try to find your website using a search engine - what search terms might they use? Your placement in search engine searches is always going to be dependent on how many sites there are of a similar nature with similar search terms. Your position in search results cannot be guaranteed. Any other forms of traditional advertising giving your website name can be used to generate visits to your website e.g. postcards in local shop windows for holiday accomodation may be spotted by day-trippers who might decide to come back for a longer stay. Domain names are subject to availability and vary in cost. We use a highly reputable international web hosting company to host your website.
